Video Transcript for Surco RV Bunk Ladder Spec Review

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Surco RV Bunk Ladder. This is a 66-inch tall ladder that's gonna make it much easier for you to get into and out of your RV's bunk. This is going to have these one-inch wide hooks at the top that will allow you to hook around the lip on your motor home's bunk so that you have a nice, stable connection there. You can easily position this anywhere along the bunk rail so that you have maximum adjustability.

It is very lightweight due to its aluminum construction, so it's gonna be very easy to move around, but it is a heavy-gauge aluminum construction, so it is gonna give us a max weight capacity of around 250 pounds. So, as long as you're using it at the right angle, as a ladder, not as a ramp or as a bridge, this will give you 250 pounds capacity. Now, I'm a little bit over that myself, so I'm not gonna demonstrate climbing up on this, but each of our rungs does have this ribbed nylon padding that's going to give us a little bit of grip as we're making our way up, and it's also gonna be very comfortable to step on, even with bare feet. And on the bottom of the ladder, we do have these padded feet that are going to provide a nice non-slip connection to the ground. We're not gonna have to worry about it scratching up the floor or anything like that.

And because this does have aluminum construction, it is gonna be very durable and rustproof. It's got a smooth, satin anodized finish to it, so it looks really nice. It will be a great addition to your RV. And it is made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US. So, if you have been having a difficult time getting up into your bunk, this is gonna be exactly what you need.

That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

  • Bunk Ladder for Jayco Redhawk
We do have bunk ladders available, though not from Jayco. Instead, I recommend checking out the Surco RV Bunk Ladder # SP503B, which is 60" long or # SP504B which is 66" long. These ladders have 1-1/2" hooks on them; if you need a hook that is not quite as wide to attach to the bunk Surco has ladders with 1" wide hooks and are also either 60" long for part # SP501B or 66" long # SP502B.

  • Are Foldable Bunk Ladders Available
We currently only offer bunk ladders that hook onto the lip of the bunk like the Surco RV Bunk Ladder # SP502B. If you saw one that folded in a Jayco promo video it's most likely their own proprietary design and would need to be purchased through them.

  • Replacement Ladder Hardware for Surco RV Bunk Ladder # SP502B
Thank you for including a photo of your ladder's broken hook. We can help you! We offer a Replacement Installation Hardware Kit # 2460 that works with Stromberg Carlson and other brands of RV ladders. You will notice that the shape of the larger hooks is slightly different than your original ones but these will work fine for you. You'll want to retain your original hardware to install them.
